About Loren

For more than 30 years, Loren Aldworth has dedicated her career to understanding and supporting children with diverse learning needs. Her work has centered on helping students discover their strengths, overcome barriers, and experience meaningful success in school.

Loren spent 17 years as a K–12 educational evaluator, administering and interpreting educational assessments and partnering with families and multidisciplinary teams to understand students’ unique learning profiles and guide educational planning. Over the course of her career, she has also reviewed thousands of multidisciplinary evaluations, giving her extensive experience synthesizing complex information from multiple disciplines and understanding how different areas of development, learning, attention, and functioning intersect.

Earlier in her career, Loren served as both a special education teacher and an inclusion facilitator, giving her a broad perspective on how students learn, how their needs present in the classroom, and how curriculum, instruction, accommodations, and specialized supports can work together to help them succeed.

Together, these experiences have given Loren a deep understanding of both the educational system and the individual journey each child brings to it.

Loren’s perspective also extends beyond her professional experience. As the parent of a daughter who has navigated her own special education journey, Loren has sat on both sides of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) table. That experience has given her a firsthand understanding of the emotions, uncertainty, frustration, and hope that families can bring to the special education process. It has reinforced her commitment to ensuring that parents feel heard, informed, prepared, and supported as they make important decisions for their children.

Over the course of her career, Loren has developed a thoughtful approach to identifying subtle learning, attention, executive functioning, and emotional challenges that may not be immediately visible in a classroom or during a single evaluation. She believes that every child’s story is bigger than a diagnosis or a set of test scores.

By connecting the pieces, identifying patterns, and understanding how a student’s strengths and challenges affect everyday learning and functioning, Loren helps families and school teams move beyond isolated data points toward a more complete understanding of the child. From there, she helps identify meaningful, individualized supports designed to address both immediate needs and long-term success.

Loren believes that no two children learn in exactly the same way. She is passionate about looking beyond labels to understand the whole child—their strengths, interests, challenges, potential, and the environments in which they are most likely to thrive. Her collaborative and compassionate approach helps families feel empowered while fostering productive partnerships with schools whenever possible.

Throughout her career, Loren has served as a professional member of hundreds of Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and has extensive experience interpreting educational and multidisciplinary evaluations, developing individualized education programs (IEPs), identifying appropriate accommodations and supports, and helping teams translate assessment data into practical educational decisions.

One of the most valuable things Loren offers families is the ability to make complicated information understandable. She does not simply explain what an evaluation says; she helps families understand what the findings mean for their child, how different pieces of information fit together, and what those findings may suggest about meaningful next steps. Loren believes that when families truly understand their child’s learning profile, they are better equipped to make informed decisions and confidently advocate for the support their child needs.
