About Loren

For more than 30 years, Loren Aldworth has dedicated her career to helping children with diverse learning needs discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and experience success in school. Her experience includes 17 years as an educational evaluator, where she partnered with families and multidisciplinary teams to better understand students' unique learning profiles and help guide educational planning. Earlier in her career, she also served as both a special education teacher and inclusion facilitator, giving her a well-rounded perspective on supporting students in a variety of educational settings. Together, these experiences have given Loren a deep understanding of both the educational system and the unique journey every child brings.

Loren's perspective extends beyond her professional experience. As the parent of a daughter who has navigated her own special education journey, she has also sat on the other side of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) table. That experience has given her a firsthand understanding of the emotions, uncertainty, and hope that families bring to every meeting, reinforcing her commitment to ensuring parents feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the process.

Over the course of her career, Loren has developed a thoughtful approach to recognizing the subtle learning, attention, executive functioning, and emotional challenges that may not be immediately visible in a classroom or during a single evaluation. She believes that every child's story is bigger than a diagnosis or a set of test scores. By taking the time to connect the pieces, identify patterns, and understand how a student's strengths and challenges affect everyday life, she helps families and school teams develop meaningful, individualized plans that support long-term success.

Loren believes that no two children learn the same way. She is passionate about looking beyond labels to understand the whole child; their strengths, interests, challenges, and potential. Her collaborative, compassionate approach helps families feel empowered while fostering positive partnerships with schools whenever possible.

Throughout her career, Loren has participated in hundreds of Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and has extensive experience interpreting educational evaluations, developing individualized education programs (IEPs), identifying appropriate accommodations and supports, and helping families navigate the special education process. She understands that one of the most valuable things she can offer is helping families make sense of the information in front of them, not just explaining what an evaluation says, but helping them understand what it means for their child and how it can guide meaningful next steps. She believes that when families truly understand their child's learning profile, they are better equipped to make informed decisions and confidently advocate for the support their child deserves.

Loren is especially passionate about helping families identify practical solutions that build confidence, independence, and resilience. Her areas of expertise include executive functioning, ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, autism, educational evaluations, and school-based problem solving. She also enjoys exploring innovative supports, including assistive technology and emerging educational tools, to help students access learning in ways that honor their unique learning profiles and prepare them for success both in school and beyond.
