About Jessy

Jessy brings experience from in and outside of the classroom to her practice. She began her career in education as a K-1 classroom teacher in an independent school. With a desire to give more time and energy to her struggling learners, she transitioned to the role of learning specialist, where she has worked with educators and families to design and implement effective individualized learning plans. In this role, she taught elementary and middle school students one-on-one in literacy, ESL, math, and executive functioning intervention instruction. She has extensive experience writing student goals, assessing learning plans, and evaluating educational data.

Jessy’s commitment and compassion for students and families stems from her own experiences as a parent. When her eldest began to struggle with reading and was diagnosed with dyslexia, Jessy quickly learned that getting the right support is life-changing. With the lens of a parent, she knows the importance of advocating for the whole child. She understands the challenges of advocating for services at the various stages of education and is passionate about helping families support their child’s journey from kindergarten into adulthood.

Jessy is a trained and certified Levy Educational Advocate. Her values align seamlessly with the mission of Levy Educational Advocacy. She acts with empathy, seeks student-centered solutions, and asks the questions necessary to get support for students with learning differences. Jessy’s advocacy is guided by her belief that every child can be successful with equitable access to education. The certification has further prepared her to help families navigate the complexities of school support systems and access the right services.
